Tour to Samtskhe-Javakheti region

   In this trip we decided to join must-visit places in the region of Samtskhe-Javakheti. This tour gives travelers the perfect opportunity to see a few cultural Heritages from different epochs starting from the 9th century. You will have to cover approximately 800 km during this route in 5 days. Comfortable hotels with best views over the mountains thermal spas and sulfur springs are making our trip unforgettable.

Itinerary

  Journey begins in Tbilisi, we are ready to assist you from the moment you take your  step at Tbilisi international airport (TBS).  

 

Day 1  Excursion in Borjomi and Likani

   In the morning, you will be met at TBS airport where our tour takes place and will be taken in Borjomi. On our way to Borjomi we will stop at Green Monastery which is called “A miracle hidden deep in the woods' ' afterwards you will be accommodated in the 5-star hotel in Likani and will have some rest. Next we will visit  Romanovs Palace which is located right next to the hotel.

Around 5:30 pm you will visit  Borjomi Central Park which is famous for its Mineral springs, recreation complexes and the statue of Prometheus standing at the base of a tiny waterfall.

Day 2  UNESCO tour

   On this day the road will go down, to the south where you will enjoy picturesque sights of  Khertvisi  fortress, which is one of the most ancient fortresses in Georgia and luckily has survived over the centuries.             

   Next you will visit an old cave town – Vardzia.  Which is a marvelous complex with streets and tunnels leading to monasteries, temples and fortresses. We called this route a UNESCO tour since both places are under the protection of this organization.

Day 3 Rabati Castle

After breakfast our tour will continue to amaze you with one more ancient heritage of Georgia – Rabati castle. The fortress is standing in Akhaltsikhe town and was established in the 9th century. The name of Rabati  fortress  comes from Arabic and means “fortified place”. The castle was renovated back in 2012.

Day 4 Fortress of God, Stalin museum

  This is the last day being around Samtskhe-Javakheti region, on this day tour will take place at Uplistsikhe fortress which was mentioned in the annals even BC, you will for sure be surprised how human being managed to create those temples, houses and streets all cut inside the giant rocks. Uplistsikhe is also protected by UNESCO.

   Afterwards travelers will visit J.stalin house-museum (Entrance tickets are provided by our company)  where you will have a chance to see  Stalin’s personal things including: photos, military annals and maps, schemes of battles, personal letters etc…

Day 5 The capital of Georgia – Tbilisi

  This is the last day of our tour. We did not want to say good-bye  to our dear travelers without giving them the opportunity to visit our capital – Tbilisi. After breakfast you will see the most popular places of old Tbilisi. Our route starts from Narikala fortress which is also an entrance to Tbilisi Botanical garden. Next you will see Metekhi Temple  and Holy Trinity Cathedral – Sameba. While being in Tbilisi do not forget to take the Sulfuric Bath even Alexander Dumas and Alexander Pushkin loved it.
